The latest single by Beggars cloaks a dark allegory within its lyrics and hypnotic rhythms. Rita,” this “such an evil señorita,” as Giannis hauntingly sings, lifts you into the stars — only to strand you there, suspended in your own spiral toward self-destruction.
In the lyric video we created for our beloved Beggars, Rita takes human form instead of white dust. She stars alongside the Band, Dude, and a drifting Alien Saxophonist in a surreal, comic-style space odyssey. Dude, captivated and consumed by Rita’s treacherous charm, embarks on an endless space rock trip — a point of no return. His path is as bleak and ominous as the galactic void that surrounds him.
The video’s characters and settings are illustrated in a distinct comic book aesthetic, complete with stylized effects and custom lyric fonts that intensify the cosmic, psychedelic narrative.
