HARVEST COFFEE ROASTERS:
Following our recent rebranding, we are developing new packaging for our popular and authentically rich cocoa powder, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with the visual identity established across the Harvest Coffee Roasters product line.
ISLAND12:
This cocoa powder stands out for its high quality, deep authentic flavor, and delicate aroma. To reflect its origins and cultural significance, we drew inspiration from the pre-Hispanic civilizations of the Yucatán Peninsula—most notably the Maya and Aztec cultures. Cocoa played a central role in these societies, not just as a staple of daily life, but as a sacred element used in rituals, mythology, and commerce.
The new packaging design is centered around a key visual inspired by ancient artifacts—hieroglyphs, ceremonial depictions, deities, and scenes illustrating cocoa's essential place in daily life. Rather than a literal representation, the central deity figure is interpreted through the unique visual language developed for Harvest, striking a balance between storytelling and modern design.
This concept reinforces the authenticity of the product and creates a meaningful connection to the origins of cocoa. The color palette reflects both the natural hues of cocoa beans and tones found in ancient ceramics and murals, harmonized with the updated Harvest brand aesthetics. The overall layout is complemented by clean, legible typography that clearly conveys product information, maintaining clarity while allowing the storytelling visual to shine.
Through this design, we aim to celebrate the cultural heritage of cocoa and present it in a way that feels both grounded in history and contemporary in expression.
