SPAROZA:
The way we collect the herbs and spices for our blend, along with the detailed method of preparation needed to unlock its full potential, forms a kind of ritual for us. This tea has natural soothing properties—you drink it and feel transported in a subtly "magical" way. That’s why we named it “The Shaman Tea”.
Given the intense competition in this category, our goal is to create packaging that not only stands out on the shelf but also communicates the unique character and promise of the product at a glance.
ISLAND12:
Taking direct inspiration from the product’s evocative name, we developed a visual concept grounded in strong tribal elements that enhance and extend the storytelling power of “The Shaman Tea”.
The packaging design centers around a stylized shamanic mask—an impactful graphic symbol that encapsulates the mystical essence of the product.
The full mask is featured on the top lid of the tin, paired with a wordmark designed to harmonize with the tribal aesthetic. This same mask is then enlarged and wrapped around the tin’s body, allowing intricate design elements to be appreciated up close.
A limited palette of black, white, and red delivers a bold and confident look. The vibrant red hints at the intensity of the tea’s flavor and aroma, while the background hue is inspired by the soft, earthy tone of the brew when prepared with milk—our suggested serving method.
The mask becomes the visual anchor of the packaging: eye-catching, symbolic, and intriguing. It draws the consumer in, inviting them to experience the blend’s calming, almost mystical qualities.
To extend the brand experience, we also designed custom mugs inspired by the mask’s horns. These distinctive handles not only elevate the aesthetics of the Shaman Mug but also enhance its functionality, creating a product that is both beautiful and practical.
